Hello. I'm Kathy South, the founder of the Reiki Center of Greater Alexandria (RCGA). My professional background is in Information Technology (IT) as a consultant with 14 years experience. I began exploring energy through the practice of t’ai chi chuan in January 2002. The energy sensing and awareness which began with t'ai chi led me to explore energy healing, for which I'm eternally grateful.
In October 2003, I adopted a 78 lb retired racing fawn male greyhound named “Johnny Shines”. In October 2004, I became a Reiki Master Teacher and in November 2004, I achieved Shodan (1st degree black belt) in karate.

In June 2007, I adopted a 56 lb retired fawn female greyhound named "Casey". You did good Johnny! Casey is a lovebug and bit of a princess. Below is a picture of us from Dewey Beach in Oct 2007.
